How to share scan results

2 min read·Updated April 2026

Found a deal worth chasing? You can share a single car or a batch of cars two ways: directly with your team inside ScanAuctions, or anywhere else (WhatsApp, email, clipboard) for solo dealers and external contacts.

Per-car share

On any row in scan results, click the share icon. A modal opens with both options side by side — share to your team, or share anywhere.

1

Share to team

Pick a team conversation or DM a teammate. The car renders as a rich attachment with the listing image, retail value, and profit. The recipient can click straight through to the full scan to see the rest of the row.

2

Share anywhere

Three sub-options:

  • Copy — copies a formatted text block to your clipboard: “2021 Audi Q5 · 36k mi · Buy £26,400 → Retail £31,800 · Profit £5,400 (20.5%)”
  • WhatsApp — opens wa.me with the same text pre-filled, ready to send.
  • Email — opens your mail client with subject “ScanAuctions deal” and the formatted body in place.
Share anywhere works without a team plan — solo dealers can fire deals across to colleagues, mechanics, or finance houses over WhatsApp or email.

Bulk share

Tick the checkboxes next to multiple rows. The action bar at the top of the table reveals a Send to chat button — pick a conversation and every selected car posts as a thread.

Bulk share is currently team only. Bulk “share anywhere” (WhatsApp/email a batch of cars at once) is on the roadmap.

Sharing the whole scan

At the top of any scan page there’s a Share button next to Re-run and Export. It generates a link plus summary of the entire scan — useful when a partner wants to look through every result, not just one car.

What gets shared

  • Make, model, year, mileage
  • Buy price (or current reserve), retail value, profit, and margin
  • Source platform (Motorway, CarWow Buy Now, CarWow Auction)
  • Listing image (when shared to team chat)
Shared cars hold their data even if the auction listing is later sold or removed — the snapshot is frozen at the moment of share.
