How to re-run a scan

2 min read·Updated April 2026

Auction listings change throughout the day. A scan you ran three hours ago might already have stale prices, sold cars, or be missing new listings that have just dropped. Re-running gives you a fresh snapshot using the same filter and platforms.

How to re-run

1

Open the scan

Navigate to /scans/{id} — the scan you want to refresh.

2

Click Re-run

The Re-run button sits in the scan header next to Share and Export. One click, no extra prompts — ScanAuctions reuses the original filter and platform selection.

3

Watch the new scan run

You’ll be redirected to the new scan’s page as it executes. Same progress bar as a fresh scan: scraping → AT valuations → analysis → complete.

Each re-run creates a new scan record — the original isn’t overwritten. You can flick between the two on /scans to compare what changed.

When to re-run

  • Mid-morning AND mid-afternoon if you’re chasing live auctions. Motorway and CarWow refresh stock throughout the day.
  • After a Motorway maintenance window (15:30–16:30 UK) — new lots usually drop shortly after.
  • Whenever a deal you wanted has gone — a re-run will show you what’s now available in its place.

Plan limits

Each re-run counts toward your daily and monthly scan allowance on Basic plans. Ultimate is unlimited — re-run as many times as you want.

Auto-rerun

There’s no “refresh every hour” toggle on a single scan yet. If you want hands-off recurring scans, use scheduling on the filter itself — it can fire daily or weekly at a set time and email you the results.

Most active dealers schedule one filter to run at 7am every weekday for the morning briefing, then manually re-run it once or twice during the day to catch live drops.
