How to upgrade, downgrade, or cancel
ScanAuctions is month-to-month with no contract. You can change plan or cancel any time. This page covers all four scenarios — upgrade, downgrade, cancel, and refund — plus how to update your card.
Upgrade Basic → Ultimate
Instant. Go to /plans, click Upgrade to Ultimate, and complete Stripe checkout. We charge a pro-rata amount for the remainder of your current billing period, then your renewal date stays the same. All Ultimate features (CarWow, scheduled scans, team members, AI plate reading) unlock immediately.
Downgrade Ultimate → Basic
Takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You keep all Ultimate features until then, with no extra charge. Email hello@scanauctions.com from your account email to schedule the downgrade — we don’t yet have a self-serve downgrade button.
Cancel entirely
Email hello@scanauctions.com from your account email. Cancellation is effective at the end of the current billing period — no further charges. You keep full access until then. After cancellation:
- Your data stays accessible read-only for 30 days — you can still log in to view past scans and export.
- After 30 days the account is archived. We keep the data for legal/audit purposes but you can’t log in.
- If you come back later, ask us to restore — usually possible within 12 months.
Refunds
We’ll refund the unused portion if you cancel within 7 days of a renewal and you haven’t run any scans in that period. Otherwise it’s standard month-by-month — no refunds for partial usage. If you’ve hit a serious bug that stopped you using the product, email us anyway — we’ll usually refund on a case-by-case basis.
Update your payment method
Go to /plans and click Manage subscription. That opens the Stripe customer portal where you can:
- Swap the card on file
- Update the billing address (for VAT invoices)
- Download past invoices and receipts
