How to install the Chrome Extension
The ScanAuctions Chrome Extension enriches car listings on Facebook Marketplace, AutoTrader, eBay Motors, Motorway Pro, CarWow, Gumtree, and Cinch with instant AT/SA valuations and profit margins — right on the listing page. It also captures session cookies, so you don’t have to enter passwords for Motorway or CarWow inside ScanAuctions.
Install steps
Download the extension
Open https://app.scanauctions.com/download and click “Download extension”. A zip file lands in your Downloads folder.
Unzip it somewhere permanent
Unzip the file to a folder you’ll keep around — for example ~/Documents/scanauctions-extension. Chrome loads the extension from this folder, so don’t delete or move it after install.
Open the extensions page
Type chrome://extensions into the address bar and hit enter.
Turn on Developer mode
Top-right of the extensions page, flip the “Developer mode” toggle to ON. Three new buttons appear at the top.
Load unpacked
Click “Load unpacked” and select the unzipped folder from step 2. ScanAuctions appears in your extensions list.
The ScanAuctions icon appears in the toolbar. Click it and log in with the same email and password you use for the web app.
Why is it “unpacked”?
Chrome Web Store distribution is coming soon. For now we ship as an unpacked extension so we can push fixes faster while we’re still in early access. Once we hit the store we’ll send out an updated install guide — in the meantime, this is normal and nothing to worry about.
