Connecting CarWow

4 min read·Updated April 2026

CarWow is a dealer source for both new and used cars. One tick-box covers all of it: connecting your CarWow dealer account puts their whole stock list in your scans, fixed-price cars and auction lots together. CarWow used to split those into two tabs and stopped, so we stopped splitting them too.

What you get

  • Every car in one scan. You don’t choose between fixed-price and auction any more — you get both, and each car is labelled with which it is.
  • Buy Now cars show a fixed price. Click, buy, done.
  • Auction lots show the reserve, valued against retail so you can see the room. Bidding opens 8am on weekdays, but the lots appear days early — scanning at the weekend is how you plan Monday’s bids.
You need a dealer account at carwow.co.uk. CarWow is included on every paid plan — Basic and Ultimate alike.

Method A: Chrome extension (recommended)

1

Install the extension

Make sure the ScanAuctions Chrome extension is installed. Full guide: Installing the Chrome extension.

2

Log in to CarWow

In the same browser, sign in at https://carwow.co.uk. Complete any two-factor authentication (2FA) challenges if prompted.

3

Capture the session

Click the ScanAuctions extension icon Capture CarWow session. Cookies are encrypted and stored server-side.

4

CarWow unlocks

On /scans/new you’ll now see CarWow as a tickable platform. That one tick covers their whole stock list — fixed-price cars and auction lots alike.

Method B: Email + password (fallback)

1

Connect via Settings

Go to Settings → Connections Connect CarWow. Provide your dealer email and password — both encrypted with AES-256 at rest. The first scan will log in headlessly.

Password mode can’t handle CarWow 2FA. If your dealer account enforces two-factor, use the Chrome extension method instead.

Session expiry

CarWow sessions last roughly 24 hours. The extension auto-prompts you to recapture when the session is about to expire. Password connections re-log automatically whenever a scan runs against a stale cookie.

Auction availability

Bidding runs weekdays from 8am and is closed Saturday and Sunday — but CarWow loads the next sale’s lots days beforehand, so a weekend scan still shows you everything coming up. Scan Sunday, arrive Monday knowing what you want and what you’ll pay.

Plan note

CarWow is available on any paid plan — Basic and Ultimate alike. Plans differ by scan volume and features (scheduling, MOT lookups, export), not by platform access. See Plans and billing for the full breakdown.

Pro tip: schedule a CarWow scan for Sunday evening. Monday’s lots are already listed, and you get to work out your maximum bid calmly instead of during the auction.
